Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Pep Reviews collects, why we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices available to you.
Last updated July 28, 2026
Pep Tech Studios, LLC, doing business as Pep Reviews ("Pep Reviews," "we," "us," or "our"), operates pep.reviews and the related review service (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy applies when you visit the site, create an account, request a review, pay for a review, provide feedback or a testimonial, or otherwise interact with the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, authentication information, and account role.
- Profile information: an optional public name, headshot, X profile, product or company name, and product URL.
- Review requests: the product URLs you submit, the type of review you choose, and any context or access instructions you include.
- Review materials: private review recordings and links, transcripts, summaries, rubrics, action items, and information about whether a review has been opened.
- Testimonials and permissions: written or video testimonials and your choices about whether Pep Reviews may publicly display the testimonial, profile attribution, or completed review materials.
- Communications: feedback, refund requests, support messages, and other communications you send to us.
Do not submit production credentials, sensitive customer data, or information you are not authorized to share. If access is required, use a test account containing fake data and only the permissions needed for the review.
Payment information
Stripe processes checkout, saved payment methods, billing details, invoices, promotion codes, and refunds. Pep Reviews does not receive or store complete card numbers or card security codes. We receive limited transaction information such as a Stripe customer or payment identifier, payment status, amount, currency, discount information, and refund status.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically receive technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, timestamps, interactions, performance information, and errors.
We use PostHog for product analytics and error monitoring. Our PostHog configuration is designed to mask page text, form inputs, and personal-data properties in analytics and session recordings. Masking reduces the information captured but no technical safeguard can guarantee that unintended information will never be collected.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and recover account access;
- accept, manage, perform, and deliver requested reviews;
- create private recordings, transcripts, summaries, rubrics, and action items;
- notify you about requests, completed reviews, payments, refunds, and support;
- process checkout, maintain transaction records, and prevent fraud or abuse;
- display testimonials and review materials only according to the publication permission associated with them;
- operate, troubleshoot, secure, analyze, and improve the Service;
- enforce our Terms of Service and protect our users, rights, and property; and
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
3. Legal bases for processing
If privacy law requires us to identify a legal basis, we process personal information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, because we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service, because we need to comply with law, or because you have given consent. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, although withdrawal does not affect processing that already occurred.
4. How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: companies that provide hosting, databases, authentication infrastructure, file storage, video hosting and delivery, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, and related operational services. Current providers include Vercel, Convex, Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare Stream, ScreenCharm, and PostHog.
- At your direction: when you authorize a testimonial or completed review to be made public. The publication may include the specific profile, product, testimonial, recording, rubric, summary, action-item, and transcript information described when you give permission.
- Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce agreements, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Pep Reviews, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
The third-party products, profiles, and websites linked through the Service have their own privacy practices. This policy does not control those third parties.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why it was collected.
- Account, profile, request, and review information may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Payment and refund records may be retained as required for financial, tax, fraud, and legal purposes.
- Published testimonials and review materials remain available until permission is withdrawn, the material is removed, or it is no longer needed.
- Limited information may remain in backups or logs until those systems are overwritten through their normal lifecycle.
Deleting a pending request from your account removes it from the active review queue. Contact us to request deletion of an account or other personal information.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. These include access controls, authenticated customer and reviewer areas, payment processing through Stripe, and private or signed delivery mechanisms where supported. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your password and test-account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account or submitted access information has been compromised.
8. International data transfers
Pep Reviews is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different privacy laws than your country. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a decision about a privacy request. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right.
You can take certain actions directly in the Service:
- update supported account and public-profile information;
- delete an eligible pending review request;
- change whether a testimonial or completed review may be displayed publicly; and
- manage saved payment methods and billing details through Stripe.
For other requests, email jesse@peptechstudios.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where applicable, but we may require proof of their authority.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or applicable law. The "Last updated" date identifies the latest version. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required.
