Jesse Peplinski, developer and founder of pep.reviews

You know who's reviewing your product.

I'm Jesse, a developer and founder with nine years of professional software engineering experience. I built pep.reviews because getting candid feedback on something new is hard: the people closest to it already understand it, while everyone else rarely explains where you lost them.

I personally review every submission cold, narrate what I'm thinking, and tell you what I would fix first. Nothing is handed to another reviewer, and the feedback isn't generated by AI. I only use AI afterward to help prepare the transcript, summary, and action items—and I review everything before delivery.

Testimonials

Review helped me to focus on what needed fixing on my landing page. I know - this is meta - reviewing my own product :)
Jesse from pep.reviews reviewed FreeBudget’s onboarding flow, and it was incredibly valuable to see a new user’s first impression of our marketing page, signup flow, onboarding tour, and overall experience. He provided clear, actionable feedback that will certainly help us improve the product. I’ll definitely use pep.reviews again as our platform continues to evolve!
Just used Pep Reviews on my latest SaaS project. Jesse jumped in cold, recorded his honest reactions, and quickly found the spots where users might get stuck. I updated my onboarding almost immediately. It felt like getting feedback from a fellow builder who genuinely wants you to succeed. Thanks, Jesse!

FAQ

When do I pay?

After every selected review is finished. You will receive one secure Stripe Checkout link, and completing checkout unlocks all of your private videos.

Is my review private?

Yes. Your submission and videos stay private unless you explicitly approve sharing each recording.

What can I submit?

A public landing page or an app I can safely access, including web, mobile, desktop, and native apps. Send a public URL, App Store, Google Play, TestFlight, or other install link. If your app needs a specific device or operating system, mention it in your request so I can confirm access. If sign-in is required, use a test account with fake data and the minimum permissions needed. Do not send production credentials or sensitive customer data.

Why did you start Pep Reviews?

I've been receiving quite a few product-review requests recently, so I created Pep Reviews to make the process more structured and ensure I can spend meaningful time on each product.

Are there other review services like this?

Yes. You can try uglybaby.io, though it is quite expensive. I actually applied to be a reviewer there and never heard back, which is part of why I created Pep Reviews instead. I also recommend checking out PeerPull, a cool peer-for-peer exchange of services.

Why pay for this when free feedback swaps exist?

Free feedback exchanges can be useful. Here, you are paying for a review from a known person with nine years of professional software engineering experience, a recorded first-use reaction you can revisit, and one clear priority to act on. You are not depending on a random match or required to review someone else's product in return.

How is this different from analytics or an AI audit?

Analytics show patterns across real users and should remain your source of truth once you have enough traffic. An AI audit can generate a checklist. I add the missing human narration: the question, hesitation, or trust gap behind one person's first impression as it happens.

What if you are not my target customer?

I will say that plainly and will not pretend my reaction represents your audience. I can still identify unclear messaging, broken expectations, friction, and trust gaps, but you should treat the review as one honest signal—not universal user research.

Will this review help with my marketing or distribution?

No. pep.reviews is not a marketing or distribution service, and I cannot promise traffic or users. It helps improve the experience people find after they arrive. If you want to build a more consistent marketing habit, check out TryLaunchLoop.

Is this a formal UX or security audit?

No. It is one person's candid first-use reaction. It is not accessibility certification, penetration testing, or formal user research.

Can I ask questions afterward?

You can reply to the delivery email. If you want to work through the feedback live, add the founder call after your reviews are ready.

Will you share my review?

Yes, if you approve it. I will post the review on X to my roughly 1,400 followers and feature it on my Twitch stream, which averages about 30 viewers. That can create some extra exposure, but it is a bonus—not a traffic guarantee.

What if I disagree with the feedback?

That is okay. You know your product and users better than I do. The review gives you an honest first reaction to compare with your strategy, analytics, and customer feedback—not a verdict you have to follow.

Can I submit the same app twice?

Yes. You can resubmit the same app for another fresh review. Each submission is treated as a separate review and charged separately.

What would you like reviewed?

No payment required until your review is ready.
